Small Charities Coalition

Small Charities CoalitionAn unusual story from the Charity Sector this week. A story about a Chief Executive agreeing to resign because the charity could not afford to pay him his salary.

Alex Swallow, now the former Chief Executive of Small Charities Coalition, agreed to resign from the charity when it was having funding difficulties. Mr Swallow, believed to earn £45,000 per year, agreed to go as he wanted the best for the charity.

The SCCs income for the year to 31 May 2013 was £108,438. It spent £149,866 in the year. Income had dropped from £170,383 in 2012, and £189,563 in 2011.

Cynics have already suggested there must be more to this than meets the eye! Until we hear different we send our congratulations and best wishes to Mr Swallow.

Who said we only publish stories when charities go wrong!!!
